Viva L'Italia - Good Morning, Holland

We booked the flight of KLM which flew from Taipei to Rome via Amsterdam. It cost us about 40,000 NTW each. Previously, the flight had landed in Bangkok once to be fueled before it arrived in Amsterdam that resulted in the total flight time to more than 16 hours. Luckily, KLM has changed the flight to a direct non-stop one form Taipei to Amsterdam since this March. Therefore, it took us about 12 hours from Taiwan to Europe.

Our flight took off at 23:40. Even thought the elapsed flight was shorter than before, it was still not an easy task to stay in an economy seat for half a day. Most of us couldn't sleep well. I saw two movies on the flight: "A Separation" and "The Adventures of Tintin." Both were good, but I fell asleep once watching "A Separation" because there was only English subtitle for the movie.

I didn't sleep deep on the flight and didn't dream anything. In fact, this whole trip was a dream for me. I still remember how I started collecting information for a comprehensive travel schedule, booking flight and accommodations, renting a van, and even making Italian internet friends. While all these preparations got ready to launch, everything seemed so unreal.
Lonely Planet Italy, my homework of the trip
At 6 AM July 1st, we finally made it to Holland. Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is flawless with complete airport facilities: shops, banks, bars, restaurants, a casino, and a mini museum. You can even get the dead skin on your feet nibbled away by fish in the airport (15 euros for 10 minutes service, too expensive to me). We walked around the airport with excitement and a little bit tiredness during the transfer time. I bought two postcards, one for my cousin (my aunt's first daughter, who is not able to travel with us due to the time conflict of her college entrance examination) and one for myself.

It was until our return flight we didn't have chance to visit Holland. However, through the airport window, I could see the beautiful plain and farmland of the country. The scenery was peaceful. Good morning, Holland, and goodbye.
My aunt ordered an apple pie in Schiphol

The small museum, really small
