Today I got a day off. The weather was still roasting. Two of my cousins, one graduated from primary school, and one graduated from junior high school, have begun their summer vacation. I envy them being able to enjoy summer vacation, though in Taiwan most of students don't acquire true "vacation." Summer curriculum is routine in every junior and senior high school. For students, summer vacation means less learning hours, not holidays. However, my cousins' summer class doesn't start until July, so they do have free time in this period. Unfortunately, my cousin who graduated from junior high school didn't get good score in the first Basic Competence Test for Junior High School Students this year. Thus he has to study for the second test held one month later, which ends his vacation.
The high temperature motivated me to go swimming. The last time I went swimming in Taiwan was last summer (my Boracay trip in this February was exempt from that). Because I cannot bear swimming in cold water. Notwithstanding I love swimming, I am often too lazy to do that. There was a voice from my heart this afternoon:"If you don't go swimming today, you won't go swimming anymore this year." Then I told my cousins I was going to swim, and they expressed their pleasure to come with me.
The pool we visited is about 10 minutes ride from our apartment. I always go swimming in that swimming poor. It is named "Golden Pool." There are few hot guys swimming in the pool, the majority are elders, so I could focus on swimming. I prefer swimming in the outdoor pool, which is 50 meters in length with 2 lanes for experienced swimmers, and the rest area for beginners, because I can swim for long distance to achieve a higher physiological load of exercise and get tanned at the same time. But after we arrived at the swimming pool, it rained. A temporary afternoon thundershower. We were not allowed to swim in the outdoor pool due to the thunder to avoid the possible electrical injury. Instead, we could only swim in the smaller, crowded indoor pool. Fine, at least the water of the indoor swimming poor was heated. I swam back and forth by breast stroke and free style for several turns. It rained cats and dogs outside. Although I was not really tired, I stopped swimming and sat on the poolside doing nothing. The rain cooled down the weather a little bit, but I missed the sun, especially when I was in the pool. My cousins didn't care about this, playing their goggles by repeating throwing them into the water and picking them up. I think that is one benefit of being young. The youths worry less than the adults.
Anyway, I am glad I eventually went swimming this summer. Hope I can get rid of my excessive fat and become healthier and sexier.
