Money, Money, Macau

I've been to Hong Kong 6 years ago. That's why I didn't put it into my travel list anymore. For me, Hong Kong was a place for nothing memorable but shopping and eating. However, the trip to Hong Kong and Macau last weekend has changed my viewpoint thoroughly. Now I consider that Hong Kong is a great choice for Taiwanese to spend vacation on often.

Arriving at Hong Kong International Airport at 10 o'clock in the morning, I took the ferry to Macau from the airport directly. It was quite convenient. There were not many passengers on the ferry. I guess only a few people like me chose this way to Macau. Despite this, there were long lines in the passport control. It took me 40 minutes to go through it. Because I booked the 17 o'clock ticket of the show "Zaia" of Cirque du Soleil, I didn't have much time to do sightseeing in Macau. Thus, the first place to visit was definitely the ruins of St. Paul's (大三巴牌坊).  Before that I stopped by the Church of Our Lady of Rosary Macau (玫瑰聖母堂). Even though the attraction was filled with crowded tourists, the ambience of the church was still solemn. The ruins of St. Paul's was just like what I anticipated. Beautiful and exotic, I did kill some film here. I ate pork chop bun and gelato with lemon and guava flavors on the way. Then I had lunch at a Portuguese restaurant called "Escadau." The taste of African Chicken was interesting, but I won't say I love it because there was too many bones.

Luckily I took the right bus from central Macau to Taipa. The next destination was the Venetian Macau. This was the most important reason why I came to Macau - to watch the show "Zaia." I stayed in the casino shortly with a small gamble on a slot machine. Of course I lost the money quickly. Never mind. What I wanted was the show, not to become rich here.  I was a kid at the first time I watched the show "Quidam" from Cirque du Soleil on TV. It's a world of fantasy to me. I told myself that I will watch the show in real one day. My dream came true in Macau. The show didn't disappoint me at all. It was sophisticated, marvelous, and illusory. I didn't have time to blink my eyes in order not to miss any detail of the show. I loved the bar juggling the most. The show impressed me, and I think it was worth the trip.

After the show, I visited the Grand Canal Shoppes to buy the souvenirs to my family and friend. My backpack became heavier and heavier. Then it was time to say goodbye to Macau. Although I only stayed here half a day, I truely believe that Macau is a nice to place for a short vacation. Nice food, great shows,  populous casinos, and amazingly large shopping malls. All you have to do is bring enough money, and you will enjoy a wonderful time here.

After shopping, I was exhausted.
