Lukang, Long Time No See

In spite of the typhoon, my grandfather, my aunt, my cousins and I still visited Lukang (鹿港) on Sunday afternoon. My cousins' new semester will begin next week, so this was the end of their summer vacation.

"Kang" in Chinese means port. Lukang was an important sea port of Taiwan in the 18th and 19th century. A lot of culture heritage and old buildings are preserved. Today Lukang is well-known for its temples and food. The last time I went to Lukang was about 5 years ago. I couldn't jog my memory of the town. However, I was able to feel that the town has been renovated. The old sreet (老街) didn't really look old, but there was still some good old times atmosphere.
We merely stayed there for 2 hours, visiting the old street, Matzu Temple (天后宮), eating local food. Wonderful time again.
